What is induction processing

Induction processing or in other words HDTV - is one of the types of high-temperature processing of metal products. Hardening with high frequency currents is currently one of the most popular methods among others.

Metal processing by means of heat is a fairly ancient practice. First, metal products were processed with fire, and from the 20th century, hardening with high-frequency currents, or briefly HDTV, began to be actively used.

Principle of operation

The principle of operation of induction metal processing is quite simple. It consists in strong heating of a metal product when it is placed in a powerful magnetic field. The magnetic field is generated from an inductor connected to a high-frequency alternating current generator, the metal is heated and the product can be processed.

The advantages of induction metal processing include its high speed, which increases the productivity of the equipment. Also, this method gives a minimum amount of defects on the product, uses a small amount of electricity and is a fairly environmentally friendly method of metalworking.

Application

As mentioned above, HDTV hardening is now the most popular and is actively used in production. Almost every metal processing enterprise has a plant designed for hardening products.

Most often, in hardening with high-frequency currents, metals are hardened for such areas as factories that are engaged in aircraft construction, mechanical engineering, manufacturing metal utensils, manufacturing metal parts for the operation of various mechanisms and metal tools.
